Week 29: Top FA cup teams stumble, Uefa teams tumble

Did any of you back an FA Cup treble of Pompey, Cardiff and Barnsley? I thought not! Only 9 games played in the Prem and not a great scoring week here. Only 17 of you managed over 100+. That's one of the lowest numbers I can recall. Well done and £50 to Richard Taggart who top scored with a very impressive 165 pts and moves into 13th overall. His 1-1 draw for Blackburn v Fulham probably made all the difference. Our resident mafioso, Don Falcone, was the only player to come anywhere near his score. Not a great deal of change at the top - Laura has now been leading for about 5/6 weeks, though it is squeezing up a bit behind her.

As an extra incentive to catch her up this week, there will be an additional winner's prize. 2 tickets to see the new hilarious one man show An Audience with Avram Grant. Hear about: "The day the team sheet fell off the wall, the time the ref played 3 extra minutes instead of 4, and the game when John Terry picked the team for me". The Runner Up gets 10 tickets + a copy of the new dvd - Pascal Chimbonda - How to take the perfect penalty (Just to be clear, Ciro wrote that, not me, David R)

Bonus Team: Portsmouth, 6 mins v Birmingham. 24 pts were on offer here and 15 of you picked these up. Would it surprise you to learn that the most popular choice was Chelsea to score first v Derby? 94 of you had them.

Predictions Cup: Week 29 saw the 4th Round and plenty of very close matches. Below are the full results and the remaining draw (also in the link called Predictions Cup Draw to the right). The closest tie of the round saw Leader Laura lose by one point to Peter Barrett, so no double for her. Whilst both former champs, Gary Martin and Matthew Flower are also put. Paul Fenton was the WBA of the round with the biggest winning score (and the only one over 100) Funnily enough, the Predictions Cup is mirroring the FA Cup. All of the Big guns at the top, and the recent winners are all out, so it has left the door open for a real nobody to win! :) For the record, 4 of the remaining 32 are women - and there will def be one in the last 16 as 2 of them meet in Round 5. James Marlow is the only remaining youngun..only 31 adults left to beat James!
