WEEK 21 - You never lose it

By which I mean class, not the ability to tackle properly! Not to be outdone by Henry, Scholesy showed that he shouldn't have retired in the first place.  Even aged 37 he's probably got the sharpest brain in the Premier league.   But if he was the player of the week, then Swansea were surely the team (with respect to Wolves).  Most teams who go 1-0 down to Arsenal end up being carved open like John Prescott eating Christmas dinner (or used to be!), but the Swans came back and played some wonderful football.

Well done to Tom Nathan, theonly player to break 200 this week, and without any bonus points too.  It's not quite enough to move him into contention up front, where Chris has extended his lead and the only significant mover into the top 10 is Fred Rose.

Predictions Cup.   Well done if you were one of the 512 highest scorers in Week 21.   You are now through to the first round proper which will be played in Week 23.  I'll send out the draw with those fixtures.   Hard luck if you missed out, especially Michael Ford, who was player 513 this week, and only went out on goal difference!   Sorry mate!  Atb, Ciro

WEEK 20 - A collector's item which could prove very valuable

It's been almost a month since many of you sentback Week 21 and not much has really happened in that time.   Well, apart from Luis Suarez and Liverpool FC being branded racist, Man City stumbling in all competitions, Tim Howard scoring from over 100 yards, Neil Warnock being sacked (Good - I've never liked the whinger!),  and a chubby Frenchman rolling back the years with one of his trademark finishes  And just last night, partly due to a rocket by the man hairdressers love to hate, Spurs look as though they have officially entered the Championship race.  With City clearly missing Yaya Toure and United still unconvincing, can they take their chance and the advantage that none of their players has had to go to the African Cup of Nations, including Benoit Assou-Ekotto?

The new year has ushered in acouple of firsts in the Predictions league.   Never before have 3 people all scored the same highest total in a week.  When there is a tie, I look at who got the most spot on scores, then who got the most spots worth 50 etc etc   Unfortunately for Lee White, this took him out of the equation.   But for Gordon Dickson and Matthew Johnson, their scores were all but identical and they cannot be separated on any basis, so they BOTH win £50 this week - the first time we have ever had duel weekly winners!   Up front, Chris Franklin still leads and no-one has particularly made big inroads.

PS - A reminder that Week 21 sees the qualifying round for the Predictions Cup.   Make sure you get your scores in as only the top 512 scoring players (In week 21, NOT in the overall table) will go through to the first round proper.  Atb, Ciro
