You can bet that the likes of El Hadj Diouf, Joey Barton and John Terry (for now) were all sleeping a little easier on Saturday night, as anew public enemy number one had emerged. I'm glad to see Suarez has apologised, though you sense he was told to rather than offered. The fact that he refused to shake hands didn't bother me too much (I'm with the crowd who think we should scrap this hand shaking rubbish. Let's leave it until the end of the game when there can be no hypocrisy), but when you add up his offences (including cheating Ghana out of a World Cup semi-final and celebrating it so overtly), you realise he's an asshole, and a racist one at that, As for King Kenny defending him, and Evra goading him at the end like a schoolboy, both have done themselves no good.
It all detracts from what was a great week and magnificent performances from WBA (or FBR as my dad calls them), Everton, and especially Spurs. I've never seen Mr Redknapp celebrate so much (unless you count his jig as he departed Southward Crown Court last week). But is he the right man for England? You can have your say in the new poll. The heart says Harry, but Gus Hiddink easily has the best credentials imo. That's why I suspect Chelsea will sack AVB this week and make a move for the Dutchman. And whilst Thierry Henry signs off with a flourish, you wonder if Mick McCarthy might follow him out of the Premier League (Steve Bruce waiting in the wings?)
Back to the Predictions, and in a tough week, the scores were very mixed, butMichelle Henry excelled and was the only player to score 200+, becoming our 2nd female winner this season. Mark Fox makes the biggest gains up front this week and nice to see our blog-master, David Rakison enter the top 10, Atb, Ciro
