WEEK 29 - Kuyt of this world

Yes I know, terrible. But not as bad as the Utd defending which allowed him to score the easiest hat-trick in Premiership history - and all from a combined distance of 7 yards! It's close at the top and even closer at the bottom. Gone are the days of automatically predicting that any team in the top half will beat a team in the bottom, and your scores reflect that with a real mixed bag.

Before we move on (and I realise it's not a Premiership game), I'm gonna have my say over the Van Persie sending off on Wednesday. Barca are the best in the world and don't need any help from refs - but, as Chelsea know to their cost, no team gets more favours than them. Not just a joke but a totally wrong decision. VP was not booked for "kicking the ball away", but for "delaying the restart of the game". Forget the issue about him not being able to hear the whistle - that is irrelevant. Maybe on Hackney marshes where the ball would have ended up half way on the next pitch before some lump found the time to kick it back, you could make a case for it, but at the Camp Nou the instant the ball goes out of play, some wee ballboy throws another on the pitch (as they have been trained to do). Surely the ref has got some common sense? Did VP prevent them from taking the free kick quickly? No! In fact, if anything, Van Persie sped up the play as another ball went straight into Valdes' hands. The fact that Barca deserved the win is neither here nor there. They may have won anyway, but it was a criminal decision and we were denied the chance to see a real contest to the bitter end. Unfortunately, its another case of refs egos being bigger than the players' and too many tournaments are being ruined by these clowns. I love these rants!

Anyway, only one player scored 200 here, so well done to James Dunne who wins £50. Not much change up front, though Declan Shortiss, the man who led this competition for half the season has given himself a fighting chance of a late comeback after a great score of 177 moved him back into top 10.
