Week 12 - Is it Nbird, is it Nplane..no its Ngog!

Well that's one title surely decided this season already. Despite a wonderful early season effort from Eduardo, and Darren Bent's worthy try at Spurs on Saturday, I can't see anyone beating that. According to air traffic control in Liverpool, he hasn't even landed yet. What's really annoying is that all of these cheats got away with it (though at least Bent missed his pen!). Even so, nearly all of us lost points after last night's 2-2 draw, and with Man City proving their defence is still a couple of hundred million short of talent, it was a pretty average scoring week. But it seemed to bring the best out of some of our ex pros! Pat Nevin and Frank McAvennie both posted top 20 scores (Macca moves up to 7th overall), whilst Gary Mabbutt is our weekly winner, and the only player to score 200+ this week. Meanwhile, we have a new overall leader, as Richie Cullinan takes over top spot- by 4 pts!

One other item this week that made me smile. Now, I know many of you have a little predictions side bet with another player, but in Week 11, a couple of players went a bit further. Pompey fan Jon Cuff bet Wigan fan Michael Lamprell that if Hugo Rodellega scored a hat trick at Fratton Park, he would buy him a shirt with the player's name on the back. Michael accepted on the basis that he would do the same if Dindane scored a hat trick for Pompey (yes, you heard right!). So, as both players sat back, fully expecting to have more chance of landing the Lottery that night, Dindane obliged! I feel Mr Cuff deserves his moment in the spotlight for the most inspired bet in history! (though it would have been more inspired if he'd backed it at Ladbrokes!). ATB, Ciro

THIS WEEK'S £50 WINNER. Well done to:
