Welcome back to all you old hands, and to you new players. The Premiership season is nearly upon us, but before you go out and put your savings on West Ham to win the title, PLEASE could you have a quick read of the following. This should save you from having to ask me a load of questions in future!
HOW PTS ARE SCORED: If you check the link on the right called "How you score Pts" , it will explain how it all works. The pts scoring system has had a tiny tweak this season. For those of you who have played before, a spot on draw is now worth 50 pts instead of 40.
Some of you will also be pleased to know that the Bonus pts have had a reprieve! This is due to the the fact that I was hoping to introduce a brand new new pts system this season that would have rewarded your scores based on the level of difficulty and the opposition. It would have been similar to a Football Coupon whereby you get better odds for a riskier bet. Unfortunately, the new software kept crashing my PC and I just couldn't risk it. So, we're going to stick with the good old tried and tested system for now, though maybe I will bring in the new system when it is perfected!
MINILEAGUES: This season, ALL of you are in a minileague! Most of you are in the same one as before, though a couple have changed names. If you check the links to the right of this page, you will see a link for each of the 29 minileagues (there are 6 new leagues too). Please check that you are in the correct minileague! If not, let me know. Also, I set up a new minileague this season called MISFITS. This basically includes all of you who cannot find a home in another minileague! If any of you Misfits think you do actually fit in another minileague, again, please let me know.
WHO DO YOU SUPPORT?: In the minileagues, there is also a column which tells who you support. These are missing for some of you new players. Feel free to tell me and I will update it.
PLEASE DON'T......Bother sending me scores via a blackberry, a text, or after the deadline this season - You will be wasting your time. I've been very lenient in the past but all of you have about 6 days to send them in (+ I always send a reminder on a Friday to those who have yet to return their scores) - I think that's more than enough time! Also, I don't mind people querying their score, but a programme works out the scores, so if one is wrong, they will all be wrong! If you score a 0, it is quite possible that it is a genuine 0! Usually, if you have a wrong score, it is because you have either used the wrong PIN number or changed the order of the games on the sheet... SO PLEASE NEVER DO EITHER!
LATE ENTRY FEES: Some of you still haven't paid. Please do so ASAP. Once I have all the entries in, I will update the Available prize link in this blog
